When my first baby arrived, that first week hit me harder than I expected. Hello hormone drop! I found myself crying more than I ever thought I would. Not from exhaustion (okay, maybe a little..), but from the sudden realization that my tiny newborn wouldn’t stay this small. Holding him in my arms, I already felt the ache of missing the very moment we were in. All I wanted was for time to slow down, for him not to grow so quickly. Every little yawn, every tiny stretch of his fingers, every soft sigh, it all felt so fleeting and precious. I wanted to freeze it, to remember every detail forever, because even in that first week, I could already see how quickly he was changing.
I couldn’t put it into words. How do you describe a love so immense it makes your chest ache, a joy so deep it brings tears without warning, and a fear of time moving too fast? Looking back at those early images now, I feel all those emotions again. Raw, overwhelming, and full of love.
Every photo brings me back to the late-night cuddles, the quiet moments when the world felt paused, and the wonder of watching this tiny human simply exist in my arms.
